We carried 4 adult bikes(2 MTB, 2 touring bikes) in the box. Place them front wheel first turned sideways, just opposite of 4 MTB on the tailgate). Had old lawn furniture cushions in between so bikes did not rub and strapped them tight to a anchor ring fastened on the box. Still had room between the bikes and the opposite side for bins of wood etc, and there was also room for storage from the back wheels when the tailgate was shut. There are 4 bikes in there even if you only see 3.
Used to carry bikes on a front hitch when we had the TC but now we have a TT, the box is freed up.
