We always used the blue stuff...whatever brand. After listening to Chuck_S mention Odorlos over a couple of years I decided to try it....also really hate the smell of the blue stuff. Odorlos is awesome. We buy the bucket of the dry, add 2 scoops and plenty of water to start (never leave the tank dry) and add an enzyme. No odors, no problem. Also use the lemony smelling grey tank chemical - can't remember the brand. Both CW and Walmart sell it. Use it mostly in hot weather or especially if we're fixing anything fishy. Have never had any odor problems.
The Geo method is popular and apparently works well. I would be concerned about using products that are not specifically made for RV use....might or might not have a bad effect of the seals and would rather not find out. BTW, we NEVER use the "special" TP in the RV section....just use plain old white stuff....usually one of the cheaper brands and it does its job and breaks down easily.
