Bombed for towing or lightly bombed?
Is your tow vehicle "lightly bombed" or "bombed for towing"? What did you do?

My experience with diesels has been that the power train components are pretty well matched, so when you tune it up it exposes weakness in other areas. EG trans or intercooler. I have had better results tuning for things like transmission shift timing and engine throttle response without the aforementioned downsides.
After doing a few repairs far from home I tend to do fewer mods on vehicles I use for traveling.
