Yes I considered that bottle jacks can drop. But I have only seen a slow drop over minutes to hours. Never a sudden drop though. I imagine having a side drop suddenly 10 or more inches while I am inside relaxing would be disconcerting but probably not dangerous.
I gave up on wood blocks many years ago.
I dig holes for the high side tires.
Much more stable. Gravity is your friend. Let the TT settle into the holes. Then it won't move. Better in high winds, lower entry steps.
After some experience, you get pretty good at judging how deep to make the holes.
