I don't much care for it ether. While when they removed the button I came up with a fairly easy work around (as posted above earlier) I've long since decided to have all my images stored locally (with cloud backup) and just use Flickr for a small collection of images that I share on websites such as this one.
Sadly the underlying issue with online image storage is not so much the cost of storing it but the cost of the bandwidth to serve up those images around the world. Simply embedding a linked image in a very popular web page can generate tons of traffic for the server hosting the image!
Have you checked out the costs of server hosting lately?
