IBC is convienent and they've worked fine in all of the big 3 trucks I've had over the last 5 years or so. Some trucks, Rams I think had some issues in the early 4th gens.
I would not consider it a love affair with them. So far the greatest benefit to me has been not having to hook up another brake controller every year or 2 in my new work trucks.
I've got the same old brake controller in my 07 Dodge that was in it when I bought it in 08. Plug a trailer in, it stops the trailer. Only needs a level adjustment if inadvertently moved the knob and gain is easy to adjust.
Wouldn't be a deal breaker for me in a new truck but most all come with them now anyway if they have a trailer package.
