Brake Pads

I have been thinking about brake pads for my truck. I wonder what is the best type of pad for the rigors of towing a 5th wheel? Is ceramic the best way to go?

Great pad - I used the green compound and it gives a nice improvement in how well the brakes grab with a load .
They do make a bit more dust but there is always a trade off with performance pads and it isn't that bad.

Looks like this is what Mark Polk recommends also....they are not cheap but then again my truck ain't cheap either.....
  • AFAIK ceramic does not transmit heat as well so more heat stays in the rotor.
I use Performance Friction. Excellent in tough conditions... slightly less braking until warmed up a bit. OEM is also a good choice.
  • Ceramics mat be good for extending rotor life and cutting down on brake dust on your wheels but IIRR they're not recommended for towing.
