I'm nursing a strained back and had some time today to wander over to the Dieselstop which I frequented often when I owned my Ford diesels. Let's just say after a few minutes reading the 6.7L forum (with my jaw on the floor I'm sure) I was very happy with my decision to buy a Cummins. I read of several complete engine failures at low mileages. As much as the 6.0L had a lot of nasty problems complete engine failure was rare. Not so much with the 6.7L. Say what you might about the Ram but the latest generation is much better than previous generations and the Ram forums are COMPLETELY different than the Ford diesel forums. Yes there are a few people with some issues (most relatively minor) but nothing like I read today. I'm very happy I got off the Blue Koolaid.
Based on CR surveys some Ram owners may dissagree.

LOL, did you actually take time to read through the info for the Ram 3500? The information is so vague it's ridiculous. One thing that I did notice is that owner satisfaction is Very Good. Good try though. :R
Did you take the time to read my post. I hate my Ram because its always broke! I wish CR would give me a survey. Worst of all, my Ram dealer seems to give two hoots about my concerns.
What post are you referring to?
My Ram has only been back to the dealer for recalls and to try to balance the POS General tires it came with. And my dealer gave me a generous credit in the service and parts department for my trouble to bring it in. So I have no complaints. - blofgrenExplorer

My Ram is a turd. I'm ready to dump it after all the time its been in the shop. Everything is a disaster waiting to happen. Don't believe the Ram mafia hype.
Just because you got a bad one doesn't mean they are all bad. What do you intend to replace it with? - patriotgruntExplorer

You could virtually copy this whole thread when someone links pickup sales for any given month.
Same for trailer tires thread. That's why we are down to ten pages of topics.
Same old garbage.
But how else do we justify our life choices and criticize others for not buying what we bought? :h - CKNSLSExplorerYou could virtually copy this whole thread when someone links pickup sales for any given month.

I must be lucky. I had a great experience with my 6.0 PSD for 10 years in a F250 and am now into the third year with my 6.7 CTD with no problems or recalls on my chassis cab 5500 (did have software updates every dealer visit).
Ford is still selling class 5 chassis cabs 3 to 1 compared to Ram. Around my area, you rarely see a chassis cab Ram and I wouldn't be surprised if the ratio is closer to 12 to 1 here.
Watch for new Armored Cars, Wreckers, and Ambulances. Lots of RAMs, and less and less Fords. - blofgrenExplorer

Prove me wrong with facts. You are the one quoting what I said and you did state some facts but they do not apply to my statement
:h Statistical analysis would show that Ford sells more DRW than Ram. What do you got? - mich800Explorer

So they specify the 450 which is medium-duty is included, but do not mention the 550. The 650 and 750 are in the medium duty reporting. So how many of those 57,995 are Super Duty 450 and 550?
Don't get hung up on the F450 designation. Ram and GM could segment out this category the same way. The F450 belongs in the analysis. You cannot use the Chevy/GMC should be combined and disagree with the F450 in the same argument.
19.5" tires and wheels on GM and RAM 4500's? Fords F450 rear axle is much larger. Bottom line they de rated the 450 so people could afford to license and insure a 450. If it was 14,001# GVWR not many would be sold.
They could call it a F350 max tow or something. The reality is it is categorized correctly for the use it is sold.
