That part of I90 at the summit is brutal. Even the diesel 6.0 will be screaming to hold 60 mph.
We went from Long Beach through the Columbia Gorge over to Maryhill and on to Dayton. We then headed back east through Pothole state park eventually working our way to 12 and crossed over White Pass. From there we took NFD 25 south, looped around Mt. St. Helen, and headed back to Seattle. Longest grades were 6% for several miles although I don't remember if the the Forest Service roads indicate grades. NFD 25 is very twisty so you can't go that fast anyway.
