I go through Co-operators and have a policy for replacement value so they wanted the make, model and year. The agent contacted Fraserway and got a quote for what a new equivalent camper was worth and that was the replacement value quoted on the policy. This year the camper turns 10 and it may not be eligible for this policy so I will need to insure it for what it's current value is - no idea how that is going to work out. I looked into BCAA, but their quote years ago were double.
I'm in the same boat this year as it's the last year for the 10 year replacement insurance. I was buying from "Echelon" and was costing 196$ per year with a replacement value of $36000. I asked about cost to insure for this year and price is based on $15000 camper value they said it would be in $300 dollar range, huh??? Guess I will be shopping around. I made a quick inquiry to BCAA, they can insure, however no cost yet.
