- RoyBExplorer IIRobert - You guys down under keep coming up with good looking OFF-ROAD VEHICLES... I'm still impressed with this one. haha...
I haven't looked real hard yet but I would love to have something thing similar on the front deck of my 12-foot base POPUP camper... That would be boss for me supporting my EMERGENCY RADIO COMMS off road outings....
I've though about using wood frames to build and then covering with available Heavy Gauge marine grade aluminum siding...
Too bad your metal cabinet items don't have purchase places here in the US Market...

Unfortunately no, basically you would have to copy what they have done. - RobertRyanExplorerAt the same time or roughly a month after the Bruder X made it's introduction SLR Caravans who make this Off Road Caravan
Introduced this based on a MAN MDT Truck with a 9 litre Diesel,.Maybe you could park your Garage inside it:) It has a 62,000lb GCVWR - _1nobbyExplorerThis is a BONER thread.

- RobertRyanExplorerWell it will be the world's first Bulletproof Caravan/ Travel Trailer
New Brisbane manufacturer of hardcore Bruder off-road caravan working on a bulletproof version for world markets
It’s shaping up as Australia’s most hardcore caravan, but the new Bruder Expedition could also be the first bulletproof van produced down under, if not the world.
According to Dan Bosschieter, who together with brother Toby is starting production of the military-style Bruder EXP-6 in June, an attack-resistant version is also on the cards.
“We’ve actually been talking to some guys about literally building a bulletproof one, using a different composite (construction) but the same dimensions so we don’t have to change any of our drawings,” Dan said. “But that will be a little bit down the track.”
Bruder has already outlined its international plans including offering a product suitable for various markets.
“The EXP-6 is designed and built for international compliance and can cater to fleet, military and commercial requirements. We ship to the USA, Canada, Europe, UAE, Russia and more,” the company says on its website. - bigrigfixerExplorerI watched the YouTube videos of the Bruder last night, I want one.
- sky_freeExplorerAfter visiting Overland Expo West 2016 recently this was very cool to see. The Buder EXP-6 starts at $105,550 AUD, so call it about $80K USD at the current exchange rate once you factor in shipping. Probably not a whole lot of takers for that, but keep in mind that a Global X Survival Basics box (does not include truck) is double that, so it starts to look pretty reasonable when comparing to other options.
There are ways to do it cheaper though and get a lot of capability. My friend is buying a recently imported Unimog with a steel ambulance box on it for about $40K. He will spend another $10K to outfit the box. This is probably why there were ZERO full-sized standup TT's at the Expo. Lots of teardrops, but the most comparable US offroad TT manufacturer VMI was not there for some reason. The VMI Alpine starts at $36K, but you will probably add about $10K in options.
My approach is to use the TT as a base camp and do the more serious off-road stuff with the tow vehicle. I don't have it yet, but my new Escape 19 will be only 7' wide and with a lift should have good enough ground clearance to get into some nice spots slightly off the main roads. I used to do that with my old 8' wide trailer but this new one will be easier.
