Bubbling on my TT roof.

Photos of TT roof

The vinyl material on the roof has bubble creases and I was wondering if or what I need to do about it. When I purchased it, I can't honestly say that I did or didn't notice this.

The 1-year warranty is expiring in about a month and I want to see what you guys thought about the issue so if I need to, I can stand my ground when I bring it up to the dealer.

Thanks!

You might recheck your warranty. On my FW, the roof structure from the manufacturer is three years. The rubber roof membrane itself is manufactured Dicor. Its warranty is five years parts and labor, and 12 years on the parts.

I sure will. If mine is anything similar, then I should be good to go.

  • Thanks for the input guys. I trust that something needs to be done about it. The dealer has been awesome and actually just emailed me to remind me that the warranty was going to expire soon so hopefully there won't be any issues getting the roof fixed.
  • Just a few miles away then.
That really does seem like too much looseness. Good luck with the dealer!
  • The creases are not normal. If it's still under warranty, I would sure take it back and let the dealer try to figure out the cause and repair it.

If it was not under warranty, I would take 6" wide EternaBond and cover those seams.

    Enjoy your travels

  • Sounds good, I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow!

Pretty close too, just down the road from Bothell High lol.
  • Oh ya, I didn't even notice!
My own roof did that to a much smaller degree. I noticed a single ripple and thought about what to do for a few weeks. I finally climbed back up there to see if I could push down on the plywood only to find the ripple was gone. Bizarre eh?

I would bring it to the attention of the dealer. That seems like a lot of looseness.

BTW, I'm across the street from Canyon Park Jr. High. Are you anywhere near?
  • Thanks Scott. So what does that mean though? Would a repair be required? Btw, Bothellite here too! Small world that the guy who answered first is pretty much my neighbor!
  • I suspect the plywood on the roof is loose. Why I don't know but that looks like the edge of the the sheets is moving and stretching the material.
