I agree with Midnightsadie.
There's not much to removing it. Your repair service may not have any experience with Onans in campers. Or they may just value themselves exceptional.
The hardest part for me is the two bolts that hold the muffler, they are usually rusty. It does weight around 80# so they will have to use a jack or a helper.
If they are taking you just to remove it, I would be concerned about all those bad parts they'll find when they get that 12 hour old unit apart.

Any machinery can go bad so get another estimate. Someone on RV.NET may know a trustworthy repair service in your area.
I do my own work so don't have a personal example, but my next door neighbor had his 1992 gas burner removed repaired and re-installed for $125 ~1.5 years ago. They told him all they did was pull the head to remove carbon build up and then replace the gaskets. He thought it would be a lot more. Propane Gens don't usually have carbon build-up.
When you get it fixed, cranking it every month or two for 10 to 15 minutes will help keep it operating.
