I've also had both. The Onan on a Lance TC and now the Honda EU2000i with my current TT. The Onan was OK, but noisey. I also had some problems not with the genny itself, but with the propane feed to it. One dismal afternoon stuck in the Virgin River gorge on I15 I durn near passed out when I couldn't get the genny going and it was about 110 degrees.
I love the Honda. I just returned from a 2 month hosting stint in Sierra NP and used the Honda daily to fully charge the battery and run the microwave. I was at 7000' so didn't need the AC at that altitude.
I'm now at a Bluegrass festival at sea level in So Cal. Yesterday I ran the AC in my TT for about two hours. It's a Dometic unit that's ducted. The Honda handled it without a problem. I did make certain that all other electrical loads were disconnected.
