I Said on a freeway etc the max was better. BUT, I have had a number of local client with driveways, local roads that are in the 25-35% range. Like you, if I can't get to said job site....I'm screwed.
Low gears multiplying torque, is where it is at from my perspective, vs total power. Freeway, one needs HP, more us better. Low speed up grades, one needs torque correctly multiplied to get job done.
My IDI non turbo 7.3 with will pull more total lbs than either of previous trucks mentioned yet! Freeway......really slooooooow! :-)
