We full timed for 8 years and had no problems. We lived from Seattle to Key West and all points in between. My wife cooked most of our meals just fine in the kitchen. The refer was fine and we had plenty of storage for all our junk and did all our laundry in our own washer/dryer. We lived in temps from 105 down to 20 with no real issues.
We did this in a Monaco diesel pusher motorhome pulling a Jeep Wrangler. We had a good time, had none of the issues mentioned in this thread and only had the normal mechanical issues you can expect from a diesel powered house going down the road at 60 MPH.
Doing it in a TT may be a little more difficult. We have recently purchased a small Jayco TT and it is nowhere near the quality construction of the Monaco DP. Having said that, we ran into countless folks full timing in TT and 5th wheels as well as motorhomes.
Site rental was very reasonable all over the place. When we stayed in one place for any length of time we simply found a place to work camp and site rental was either free or nearly so in exchange for around 20 hours of light work per week. We had a blast even while working.
