I have no personal experience but have been told by a previous owner that the post March 2005 Powerstroke motors were better than the pre-March. Just thought I would throw this out.
Each year the 6.0 received upgrades to systems...mostly to the High Pressure Oil Pump...in 2005 they changed the way the lines were attached to this pump which lessened the chance of oil leaks which caused injector issues...
Just an fyi... There's some incorrect information provided in the above post.
Fish...instead of posting mysterious comments, why not use your vast Blue Oval Knowledge to add your "correct information? Is not 2005 the year they introduced the "clamp" that prevented the "snap connection" from leaking?...or was it 2006...and then what year did they change the entire connection at the pump?...2006 or 2007...I did both mods at one time or another but the years may be off...but the point remains the same...
The point is that the complicated HPOP that fires the injectors is a somewhat finicky and fragile system...would you argue that even a minimal leak in the oil supply would not lessen injector life?
...or are you disputing the fact that a turbocharger with only 28000 miles on it wiped out the #4 cylinder intake valves?
