IMO, my surge protector also guards against low voltage (which I've seen in action) and that saves my AC unit just as much as spike protection does.

You are all correct. The difference lies in the mis-naming of an EMS (Electrical Management System) being called a surge suppressor or surge protector. All EMS's include surge protection but not all surge protectors have low/high voltage management. Low voltage protection is the most valuable feature due to the nature and condition of some campgrounds' electrical systems and their use.
