I have been reading a lot and doing research myself. I came to the conclusion that if your trailer is less then 6k GVWR , then a 1/2 ton will be fine , anything more then that move up to a 350/3500 . Now what happens there is that you have a whole bunch more trailers to choose from lol and makes the process harder but in your case you already have the trailer.
