Thanks aedubber, why jump from a 150/1500 straight to 350/3500? why not 250/2500?
Personally i feel if your gonna go to a 250/2500 might as well just the get 350/3500 for really little to no extra cost . Plus you have the assurance knowing that you got a badass truck to pull with no issues hah . I would rather have the extra power and numbers then be close to my trucks capabilities ..
I was checking out trucks last weekend , i test drove the following:
F150 ecoboost : My favorite and could get the HD package to tow with room to spare. With the right gears , get the extended cab rather then the crew cab. There is HUGE amounts of room in this truck.
Ram 1500: Payload is a joke , i think my SUV has more haha
GM 1500: Payload was 1850 with the v8 5.3l motor , very nice truck. The payload is doable with this one but i drove kind of a base model and was turned off by the cheapish interior.
I was looking at all these models new , and they would run me around 38-40k to build up the way i want . For that money i would rather have a bigger truck and not be limited , so might as well splurge a little and go with the big boys :) .
But from the camping youll be doing i think a 1/2 would work fine if properly setup build wise with gears , length , HD packages , and 4x2 or 4x4 , etc.
Im personally stuck with either A. i get a new truck to use for my daily driving and towing once in a while or B . Keep what i have and get a class C MH and pull my jeep when needed. All these choices are driving me crazy haha .
