I understand the ratings, I have owned three late model 2500HD's. The six speed make the difference in rear axle ratios far less important than it used to be with three or four speed transmissions. That has been covered many times before. Personally, I would not tow over 9,400 pounds with the GM 6.0 regardless of the rear axle ratio.
