I hate to tell you this, but Nevada is catching up pretty fast. They wanted the same use fees as California on my '96.
As I recall, DMV weight for fees is 200 lb increments. The tailgate is somewhere around 60 to 80 pounds. Diesel is just under 8 lbs per gallon (I think). I don't know about the newer trucks, but with the older Dodges you could run with only one battery which is 60 lbs or more.
