Dont think that coming to Nv will save you on vehicle registration, my 2016 Ram 2500 registered for 8900 lbs gross is $900. Motorhome was $4200 in Nv and is $1600 in Ca. Yes we are moving the wrong direction but it is what it is.
I live in NV also ,was surprised when talking to a trooper about towing triple with my 5th , he informed me about the reg. stated weight that you have as 8900 lbs , when I registered my truck I was asked is that high enough ? Being from CA and used to the weight ratings , I said yes . The trooper said if you load your truck with anything in the bed , TC , the weight has to include that , in my case , truck is about 8400 - camper is about 4200 , reg has to be paid for at least 12600 lbs and if pulling a trailer or toad that has to be included also.
To make this even more different , when towing a trailer or fifth - gooseneck , the listed weight on the reg is transferred to the towed item , the truck is not included but a triple towed trailer or toad behind a 5th is included , so my truck at 8400 towing my 5th at 14000 lbs with my toad in triple at 2800 lbs needs to be paid for the 14000 lbs and the 2800 lbs = 16800 lbs on the registration , this is good as recreational up to 26000 lbs total including the truck
You do need an endorsement for over towing a trailer over 10k and for triple up to 70 ft total
Good thing is its still cheaper than CA for me , and no dot #`s , and NV could care less about my truck having a flat bed on it
