we have an real nice 5th wheel in the 30something foot range. Last couple years its mostly been sitting on property my brother and I own we have setup as our own private campground 2 hours from home. I use it every other weekend.
But or trips with the 5th wheel, I always thought it was like launching the space shuttle getting that thing ready. plus I don't enjoy driving it and the wife refuses to get behind the wheel when its hooked up. I try to limit days to 5 or 6 hours driving with it.
Several years ago we had an old shadow cruiser TC that was for my "man trips".
We also ended up using it for trips to see the Wife's parents in Georgia (from PA). She will drive the pickup with TC loaded (but no trailers.)
When I talked to the wife about getting a new TC she realized if we got one she liked she would be happy camping in it. Since we can share the driving our range just got a whole lot bigger. Plus I use them off grid for my trips. This will open up new places for us to visit as well :).
