We love our fifth wheel and decided to keep it when we bought a camper. We use them about an equal amount, depending what the trip is all about.
If we're heading into the bush, want to tow the fishing boat or ski-doo trailer, plan to meander, not sure where we'll be each day, then it's the camper.
If we know where we're going, with plans to overnight in one place for a few days, or we want some comfy cruising with more space, then it is the fifth wheel.
We figure when we get too old to crawl in and out of the camper's upper bed, then the fifth wheel will get more use than the camper. Our fifth wheel is only 25' long so is an easy tow. It follows the truck well, even on bumpy backroads and goat trails, but it is hard to turn around at a dead end where there is little solid ground.
