kjenckes ...may I be so bold to ask what the 25K is paying for? Excavation, concrete pad with knee walls, install of metal building with sides and door, maybe a people door! Is that about right?
I had priced out doing a metal 12 wide by 30 deep with half sides and half one end..installed only 3500. Pad with 1' knee walls, monolithic pour another 3000 which included surface prep and CSTC to pour pad on. CSTC=crushed surface top coarse, a mix of sand and gravel the compact very tight, use under roads and highways...today it can even be a recycled product, that usually exceeds compaction spec due to the fact that it contains massive amounts of crunched concrete.
BTW, if you are getting a pad poured, how thick, any rebar and placing it on what, scraped native or prepped surface, CSTC 3" to 6" depending on the native condition? Hey just want you to have a quality product...old PW inspector here as well as being a Master Mariner!
