Basically I've lifted every truck I have owned. Generally to get some more ground clearance and fit slightly bigger tires.
Currently my 2011 Ram 3500 Dually has a 2.5'' leveling kit on the front plus additional overloads on the rear that also increase the rear height about 2 inches. Truck handles better than stock.
I would not hesitate to lift a new truck 4-6'' to fit some 35-37'' tires on it and have several times. Granted that you are actually going to be using the truck ''off-road''. Now that with a lifted SRW I'd certainly be sticking to smaller campers or popups to keep the offroad ability after the lift and tires.
