I'm sure wintersun did the Rubicon back when 31's, no lockers and no lift would have worked. I did too. But that was then and this is now. The current Rubi bears no resemblance to the Rubi of old. It has gotten so bad that all my old tyme jeep buddies refuse to go there, and they are as hard core as it gets. It is now a rock-bash. Last time I did the Rubi, my on-board welder got quite a workout, mostly on other rigs. (driveshafts/frame repairs/shock mounts/spring hangers, gear shift lever on an NV4500 snapped off and we tubed and welded it back together...)
Don't let this clown's bragadoccio get you riled up for we are in a new era. It's like naming the price of bread when you were a kid: it only places you in an age bracket.
Some full-size rigs have gotten thru, but they came out the other end a few inches narrower than when they started.
