Camper Parts World avoid like the plague

It seems that since I made all of my modifications for solar and inverters that I never need anything unless I'm on the road with no permanamt address. most internet sales stores don't have a walk in business.

Camping World is Pricy I like the the original CW tores...

... most of the franchise Camping World Stores are after-thoughts, that sell cheap do-dads in their RV dealerships. I avoid them... they nickle-dime the walk in customer.

I usually don't mind the higher prices in the original Camping Worlds and will even join for a year if it saves me at least as much money as the membership.

By know... you are thinking, "Sleepy has lost his mind."

As many of you know I never go to canpgounds. I'm always on the look out for a dump station and a source for good, clean, potable water.

The original Camping Worlds usually offer free dump stations... free water. Some even offer over night parking... I don't do that... I might have to put up with a neighbor.

So, I'd have to give Camping World 3 stars out of 5.

I deduct 2 stars for their service bays... they wanted $60 labor to remove my old AC shroud and replace it... 4 screws. (in addition to buying the shroud from them)

I bought the shroud, replaced it in their parking lot, put the old one in their dumpster... myself.

$15 a screw is a lot... I felt good after doing it to myself.

I went to buy some derringers a few months back , everwere I looked I saw stainless , zink and white stainless , but they only come in powdercoated aluminum in a new style . Confirmed this with Torklift . Even when I ordered them from PPL the order said stainless . I was a little concerned about them being alum , but so far so good

I think I got mine from Rad Auto too (but if they hadn't been recommended here I would have probably avoided them for no good reason :) ). They were cheap and helpful.

Have to say, I do like how this thread changed from an unpleasant experience with one company to a positive experience with another! :)

I;ve also used most, or at least priced from above named distributors,and RAD Auto always comes through with the best prices for myself.It takes a few extra calls but I worked hard for my money,and every little bit of savings is mine to spend on more time out in my TC. I also don't like belonging to your CLUB, for the honor of giving you my money, JMHO.

They were very good, told them the problem i had with CPW and he took extra care to get the order out and even called me back to let me know it shipped. Definitely recommend PPL

I bought 4 spring loaded Torklift turnbuckles for half the price last august and I also bought the 9.5 BTU Polar cub AC low profile for $200 cheaper than anywhere else including $120 shipping from Texas to Connecticut. The unit was paletized not a ding or scratch on the box.I'd buy from them again no questions about it. You can call them on the 800 number. The website is a little old fashioned but it works.

That's why their prices are higher, because they mail out ads every other week it seems.
