would help you. There is a Flying J at London and many RV's overnight there if this is to your liking.

Awesome, thanks for the tips! We actually did reserve a spot at Rideau Acres, looked pretty nice. As for London, we're looking at Camper's Corner.
If all goes relatively as planned (I know, always a big IF) we should be hitting Toronto early afternoon on a Saturday. Hoping traffic isn't TOO bad a Saturday, but I guess I'll find out.

We're considering now going through Canada. Our final destination is in Vermont (from Chicago) so it's basically the same distance. Anything different camping in Canada vs. US? I'm assuming basically the same, just wondering if there's any different adapters or towing laws, etc.

We're now looking near London, ON and near Kingston. Any recommendations?

There is a city run c.g. on the east side of Erie called Lampe. We have stayed there a couple of times and enjoyed it. The sites are large, grassy and some have a water view across to Presque Isle.

We have not been at this c.g. for about 4 years so have no idea if things have changed or not.

seems like even Ohio state parks require a 2 night minimum on holiday weekends, this is getting frustrating. Am I going to have to pay for 2 nights even if I'm staying one? Starting to seem that way...

Same for NY state parks.

Hopefully i didn't wait too long, it's going to be our first long trip, so I'm not yet familiar with how far in advance we need to look, guess i might be learning that lesson the hard way

Presque Isle Passage RV Park & Cabin Rentals in Erie

Tried Presque Isle, looked like a nice place. They do require 2 night minimum for holiday weekends. They're booked for 4th of July anyway.

Also looked at Sara's, they require multi-night stay (i think its 5 night minimum) on all reservations, but you can call for a "courtesy hold" where basically they will try to accommodate you but its not a solid reservation. dont really want to end up S.O.L.

We'll be going back that way later this summer, on a non-holiday, so I might try Presque Isle again.

Can't help you yet, but have just started doing some research on campgrounds in Presque Isle, Pa., so may come across some helpful info. We plan on going to Presque Isle this summer, hopefully find a campground on the lake. So far, just found Sara's, but seems like they pack you in like sardines from what I read; that's really not what we prefer. I will post if I have any helpful info for you. Good luck.
