Indeed, it is. Which is why I chose the Camco plastic stabilizing pads. They're lightweight and so far, have worked perfectly. I personally, have no reason to lug around a bunch of wood.
To the Op regarding jacks:
Not to be a stick in the mud, but the only two reasons we did NOT go with the Adventurer were due to the type of jacks (I believe Attwood or Happi) and the fact that they don't recommend using the camper off the truck without support. The mounting system that those jacks use are not as stout as the Reico-Titans as evidenced by the picture posted. Also, the jack feet are rather small, giving less of footprint and therefore less stability, IMO. Obviously, that can be remedied by using some pads, but still I was not convinced.
