292 hp @ 5,700 rpm, 320 ft.-lb. @4,000 rpm.
That is almost the same hp as my 2005 Dodge diesel at 305 hp, I think the old dodge has more ft. lb of torque at around 610, but it has the 3.73 differential.
the old dodge handles my 27ft Jayco fine, I have never pulled in the mountains, but on most hills its fine.
so, I would give your truck a try and see what it does, maybe if it does not handle the trailer as you wish, you could change out the differential for a 4.10 or something close to that, should give you more power,
that would be cheaper than a new truck,
