You're doing well on the calculations. I also forgot to take in account the additional weight of the TC tie downs, hitch and extension when I did my calculations. My fudge/safety factor was eaten up by this extra weight and I was close to tire and rim capacity before I upgraded them.
Remember that hitch weight on an extension will apply more leverage on the axle than if you were right off the receiver. Just count it as 15% of trailer capacity to give you some wiggle room.
