Sue, Im going through the same decision right now. I've been an over the road trucker for the last twenty ++ years, and deal with the problem of weight on a daily basis. We have many more regulations than you and any violation has the potential to send us to prison for many years. Our equipment ratings far exceed the gross vehicle weight ratings. If your gvwr is 11500, and you weigh 11510, then you are overloaded in the eyes of the law. Should you have an accident in which you are not at fault, a good lawyer can and will hold you liable for the accident if you are overloaded. There are several truckers that are now in prison for vehicular homocide or manslaughter, because of a minor violation. That said, I've not heard of anything like this happening in the RV community {yet} but Im not taking the chance. Just food for thought. Ernie
