I have a new 2018 KZ connect travel trailer with two 20 pound propane tanks and an automatic switchover regulator. The problem I am having is I cannot get propane to flow while at the RV storage facility (No A/C or water). Everything works at the KOA with full hookups. I replaced the regulator with a brand new one and still no propane flow. People have suggested turning on the valves very slowly. I have tried this dozens of times on multiple occasions. I hope someone maybe has had the same problem and knows what the solution is.

Do you have a battery connected? There should be a solenoid valve that shuts off the gas flow if the propane detector goes off. Im not sure but it may turn on when you have power to it and off when you have a loss of power to it. I've never used propane on the trailer when I didn't have a battery connected so I don't know for sure.

I have a battery attached. And it is turned on. I know my DC works because the lights come on inside. The stove is a Suburban model SRNA3SBSE. It has a piezo electric igniter. I was told it should not require any electricity to work.

Does your auto switch valve show green when you open both tanks? Are you opening both tanks? If not, is the lever pointed to the tank that you do have open?I had a gas BBQ that if you turned he knob too fast, it would 'lock' the safety valve... I had to take the hose off, put it back on, then open the tank valve really slow to keep it from tripping.. (I don't have that BBQ anymore. :) )I have never had that problem on my TT.. It's over 16 years old and the auto switch over works like a charm and I've never had flow issues with it.Good luck!Mitch

No. It does not show green. I have tried opening both valves slowly but I do not see green in the window. I also tried just opening the valve that the lever is pointing to. It sounds like I should. I just replaced the regulator I had with a new one. I wonder if I got a bad one?

Are you SURE the tanks have propane in them? Sounds to me like either empty tanks or a bad regulator. Maybe you used up the last bit of propane during your last visit to the KOA or you have a leak somewhere and the propane all leaked out. I would take one tank off and get it filled. Then try putting it back and see what happens. My bet is the propane will flow and things will work again. :) If it does not, then I would return the regulator and get another new one.Barney

Well seeing how the unit is new may pay to contact KZ and the dealer for a fix. Lacking satisfaction from them then go to Propane dealer to see what they can do.

When we bought our 2014 KZ Spree, we had to replace the regulator because it wasn't working properly. Installed a Marshall and all has been fine after that. Doesn't sound like that's it tho.

Your Connect 303RL has the fridge in the slide. Same as ours. There is a flexible propane hose under the slide that moves as the slide goes in/out. It's not hidden and should be able to clearly see it and may be able to see if there's visible damage. The 12 volt DC power into the fridge and slide lights is part of the flex track thingy and maybe that is also damaged??

I doubt that there is a shutoff for when the slide is in, so I agree that a propane line may be kinking. If that is the case, I would be worried that it will break if the slide is opened and closed over time..

If the stove is all you have tried on gas it is probably your thermo coupler. A thought ???

I don't mind replacing the pigtails but unless you know something I don't, they have worked before just not at the storage area. And the regulator (the one I replaced) also worked previously. We leave Wednesday to take the trailer to Florida. My first stop is at a KOA. I will try to light the stove before I connect to shore power. If it lights, I think the RV dealer's theory about the gas pipe being too hot in storage may be the problem. Although another thought just came to me which I will try this morning. The stove is in the kitchen slide-out. The difference between being at the KOA and storage is that the slide-out is extended at the KOA. The slide out works on DC, so this morning I will extend the slide-out and see if that makes a difference. It could be the flex hose from the steel gas pipe to the stove is kinked when the slide-out is in and preventing gas from flowing. The refrigerator is also part of the slide-out.

Trailer LP System does NOT have a shutoff solenoid nor does the LP Detector do anything but ALARM
Having AC or DC Power will NOT have any affect on propane flow and stove top burners.

Cylinder that is spewing liquid is FULL....at the 80% level
OPD shutoff liquid filling at that 80% and the bleed valve tube is set at the 80% level

You have a pigtail issue or a regulator issue
