Cant identify my TT online to find out dry weight

Hello,
I am new to the word of TT, and just purchased our first used trailer. I am having a hard time finding out specific details about it, because I dont know what make it is. It is a 2003 Wildwood 28ft. Not sure who the manufacturer is, or anything else. I am assuming Wildwood is the model but not sure. Most importantly, I was hoping to find the actual dry weight. I was told 5700 by the guy I bought it from, but not sure, and the sticker is gone. It is 28ft with a six foot electric slide. Queen in rear and kitchen in front. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • no need for listed factory "weights" head for the scales and get your real world numbers.
  • What the trailers dry weight was in '03 won't help you as you have no idea what was added before you bought it....or even if it was accurate which 95 percent are not.
Actual scaled dry weight is important as it can give you a idea how much weight you can load it before reaching its GVWR.....or axle/tire load ratings.
You have the trailer so take it to a scale house and get the trucks steer...drive ...and trailer axle load numbers. That way you know how much weight you can load in the truck or trailer.
  • Yes, check the cabinet doors for a sticker.. My 2003 Fleetwood has a sticker on the cabinet door under the sink. Shows it's "dry weight" on it. There should be a sticker on the front "drivers side" of the trailer that shows it's GVWR and Axle ratings too.

But, like was said, dry weight on a trailer really means nothing... It's how much it really weights going down the road that really matters..

I've got a #5000 GVWR TT and I KNOW it weighs every bit of that.. How? I weighed it after I loaded all my stuff in it..

Yes, you will load a lot more than you think. Add several camping seasons and taking more stuff, it just all adds up!

    Good luck!

My guess - 2003 Wildwood 28FKSS by Forest River.

    ON EDIT:

Well the OP hasn't returned to say whether I guessed correctly but here are the floorplan & specs for a 2003 Wildwood 28FKSS which match his description pretty closely except the slide is much longer than just 6 feet.

  • Have you checked inside all of your cabinets. Usually a build sticker is placed inside one of the cabinets that lists all the specs and appliances on the trailer. For TT's I only see one 28'er listed in the NADA guide, an LE series M26-BHSS listed at 5740lb. dry weight. Maybe Forest River can help you with info based on VIN number.
  • I believe that your TT was made before the yellow stickers were mandated.
Which means that any info on weights was most always way off.
Dry weight is not important anyway.
    Just go get it weighed.
  • You could weigh it but who cares about the dry weight? Your wet and loaded weight is the important number along with wet and loaded tongue weight.
