Carbon monoxide sensor

I had a similar issue with my CO detector and checked the power supply and all was good. Then I read the information that came with the trailer and it said that it was important to "test" the detector yearly. Apparently dust can settle on it and cause issues. Hit the test button and it will blare to life. After going through this, I haven't had a problem.

I do agree with everyone about replacing it if you are not confident that it is functioning. Better to be safe than sorry as they say.

Something not normally thought of. If the detector is located low, it could be pet flatulence during the night. This would set off a gas detector, though should not set off a pure CO2 detector.

I found the direct replacement for mine for 40 bucks. Shop around - google the brand and model number.

If it is a LP detector, located near the floor somewhere it will go off with a low trailer battery or if it's operating life is over, usually 5 to 7 years. If it's a CO detector, located most likely on the ceiling, if is says replace in 2015, then it is due.

Most likely it has reached end of life. They are not cheap, around a hundred bucks, but very easy to replace, so no dealer labor to pay.

You can get the info, model number off from it, and order on line. Mine was just a couple of wires, fastened with wire nuts, easy swap.

Not a lot of information to go with but if it says replace by 2015, I would replace it. First you need to figure out if it actually a CO Detector or an LP detector or a Combined CO LP detector?

This is definitely something you can replace yourself. Just google or search Amazon for the model number on the detector.

Had the same issues. Mine would go off once the power ran low. Then once I disconnected it and hooked it back up the light would flash green for about 10 minutes resetting the switch. I just replaced my battery this weekend and that took care of it.

Mine was doing the same thing. A new battery didn't fix it, and I had read that they wear out. So I looked up the old one on Amazon and bought it's replacement which meant it fit into the same mounting bracket.

Many have a low voltage alert because they are tied into the 12volt side of the RV.

Check that your coach battery is charged and/or converter working properly.

And check what products you are using in the shower before bedtime. the shower is low to the ground and the detector. I had mine go off every time I winterized and poured the antifreeze down the shower drain. :R
