My last TC had a cassette, my current TC has the traditional style with holding tank. I prefer the traditional style as long as the holding tank is a decent size. My current camper has a 30 gallon black tank and I almost never have to empty it during a trip. When I get back home, the hose simply goes to the RV sewer outlet. Doesn't get any easier. Some campers have black tanks 15 gallons or less. At that point your getting closer to having to find a dump station during your trip depending on how long the trip and # of users.
The cassette we had only had a 4.5 gallon tank and required emptying multiple times during a trip. As easy as it is to empty, it still required finding some place to empty it and sometimes it wasn't as easy as people make it sound. Boondocking, no pit toilet around and cassette tank is full. Dry camping, cassette tank is full, now you look for bathrooms... Not too bad if the gas station has an outside bathroom. Not good if it has inside bathrooms and you have to walk your tank through the store(no, I didn't do it)!!
For me, the traditional style is a lot easier to deal with.
