I have a 6x6 that has been cut into a ramp with enough space for tire to sit on top. I have used it many times with my equipment trailers, just simply back or drive up with good tire and ready to go. Never leave home without it.

I use a bottle jack and jack stands. I also have some pieces of wood for safe mounting of the bases. I can't remember ever having to change a tire in the rain but I'm pretty sure if I lay down something to keep the dirt off me, I won't melt before I have the tire changed.

The dealer made it a point to show where to set the jack on the frame and where not to set the jacks.

Another problem with the bottle jack is that you have to crawl under there to position and raise the jack. Crawl back under to remove it. Not much of a big deal on your level concrete drive on a sunny day but kind of a problem in the rain on the side of the interstate with traffic buzzing by.

I suspect changing a tire is not something I'll do that often so I guess I'll just use the stack of 2x6s I carry anyway. Don't see a need for a dedicated tool for that specific job.

I have the Anderson Levelers & a Rapid Jack. The levelers aren't tall enough to get the tire off the ground. The Rapid Jack works awesome and is much easier that dragging a jack out. It doesn't get the tire far off the ground, but it's enough to change the tire.

X1+ The trailer Aid-Ramp is the easiest and safest ramp to use for changing tires. Hydraulic jacks will work as long as you exactly where to place the jack on the frame of the trailer. Actually I gave up changing tires years ago on the trailer----I just call Good Sam Emergency Road Side service. You can't always assume you are going to have a blow out where it would be safe i.e. L.A. freeways, to change by yourself

I have used a bottle jack but it is cumbersome. They are short and need some type of blocking to fill the gap.

It certainly was handy last summer when I had to change a tire in a parking lot. Twenty minutes and we were back on the road.

I have been looking at levelers but I do not know how much lift is needed for 15 inch tires.

Why not try a simple hydraulic bottle jack like this one for $20?
I use Andersen Levelers but not for changing tires. Too much trouble.
