Chevy - Ford or Dodge

Hi Guys (and gals), We have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 four wheel drive diesel with Allyson transmission, it now has 150k miles on it. It's been around the country three times with trailers and now fifth wheels and we think it's time to renew our truck.
We've been very happy with the performance and reliability of the Chevy but we thought we might like a change. I'm sure they are all comparable but if there are high points or low points in the other makes we'd love to hear from you. We pull a lightweight 36ft fifth wheel, 9,500 dry weight.
Thanks and we look forward to hearing your comments.

Keep your DMax. All the new generation trucks have more pollution control on them to cause problems and all require DEF so that is an added cost per mile. Why take on 50K to 60K in debt when the economy has yet turn around; keep it simple and paid for.
    :)^^^^^^^same here

  • Why ask a bunch of strangers how to spend $50,000?
We will all recommend what we have.

Start from scratch and go drive them all. They are all good. Sit in them and your butt will decide for you.

BUT, if your 07 Chevy has the LBZ generation Duramax, I'd be very reluctant to let it go.
  • You had good luck with your 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 four wheel drive diesel with Allyson transmission, why not start there with a new one? But maybe look for a 3500.
  • I don't agree that its time to renew the truck. If you like it just keep driving it.
  • They make a 36 foot 5er that only weighs 9500 lbs!!?

Anyway, to answer your question; Ford.
  • Might be a good time to check out the newer gassers? :h

I just switched from diesel to the F250 gasser and will never look back.

Now that ought to get a bunch of shorts wrapped up. :B
  • blue is my first choice, then white as far as the color on the truck. Badging.....all are good, so which one fits your butt the best!
