The kids are looking at Christmas gifts for me and the only thing I really need is a 12V air compressor. A small one I can store in the trailer and have on the road if needed. Anyone out there got any brands they like or don't like. I know there are a bunch out there but would like to get one in the $75 range.

Here you go! A Viair compressor. I have the Q industries model and it works great except for the cheap fuse holder that breaks easily. Barney

Harbor Freight 12 volt compressor. Just bought one and it works great. Comes in a nice bag along with a quick connect hose.Buy a few!

X3 on the Ryobi 18 volt. I inflated my fork lift tire to 110psi with no effort.
Also increased 4 rv tires by 5psi and two pickup tires on one battery. Cost $35 with VA discount. Price does not include the battery. Really like the digital pressure gauge and the auto shutoff feature. Set the pressure turn it on and auto shutoff when the pressure is reached.

The poor reviews seem to be people over working this compressor. Many need a viair with more volume, more pressure, and 100% duty cycle for 4x or more price. To top off tires or fully fill one tire these medium duty units work fine.

This one from Harbor Freight has clips but actually gets worse reviews than the one with a cigarette lighter plug.

I can NOT agree. I got this one that plugs into the lighter plug and it does not have enough power for my trailer tires.

Get the one from harbor freight that CLIPS on to the battery. I think it is rated at 200 psi. Not sure of the model number but it looks almost like the one in the link, only more power (amps).

My Q Industries MV50 paid for itself in one use last week as I needed to air up two 23.5x25 tires in the woods. Melted the fuse holder but it did the job. Also used it to blow out the lines on my Airstream TT... one of the hardest as you keep getting a little bit of water out for over 10 minutes.

Got one of these....but because I already have a drill for the leveling jacks, led lantern, and impact gun for TT wheels plus a few batteries.
Also use it to inflate / deflate water float toys on the boat.
$40 at Home Depot .
