Since the OP is seasonal, always uses city water, and never draws water from the fresh water holding tank that city water inlet check valve wouldn't be doing anything anyway even if it did work ... ergo, there's absolutely no advantage in replacing it, nor does he need any sort of shut off valve sitting on that inlet as the campsite city water feed will always be connected to the city water inlet. If he does disconnect the city water hose and wants to seal the inlet it's a simple matter using a
threaded water inlet plug designed specifically for this purpose.
