The manufacturer, Alpha Systems, of the roof on my trailer (EPDM)type says unequivocally to NOT use Acetone or any other petroleum based material on the roof. The roof will be damaged.
"DO NOT USE ACETONE, OR ANY OTHER PRODUCTS CONTAINING PETROLEUM DISTILLATES, ON THE ALPHA SYSTEMS ROOF MEMBRANE. USE OF THESE PRODUCTS WILL DAMAGE THE MEMBRANE."
This is the direct quote from Alpha Systems.
Alpha Systems also says treating the roof is not necessary, that all that needs to be done is periodic washing with either Spic & Span or Dawn or similar product.

Some will disagree but Acetone is one of the best cleaners. Make real sure it stays on the roof or it will take paint off the sides of your RV.
You are making a mistake.
Acetone is a solvent and is used to soften sealants for removing them.

I have used acetone for 20 years on several different roof types with no issues. Are you sure you know what you are talking about or did you just read the label? Try using acetone to soften seals and let me know how it works for you.
