Whatever is missing, it's a glossy layer that is not there and it feels like paper to the touch, where the rest of it feels glossy. It's a fiberglass body. May be there is some layer that is applied as a finish that isn't technically clear coat. The more I think about it, it could potentially be that whoever rolled on this glossy layer didn't reach all the way to the edges. However, I did notice a similar round spot on the slide.
Either way, it seems I need a professional opinion to determine the issue and best course of action. I'm thinking the dealer is the best place to start in case it does turn into a warranty issue.
