CoG

Is the center of gravity figured from the rear of the camper or from the front edge to rear?:S

    Depends...

    Each Mfr is different and MAY list their method on their website. Some even mark each camper as it leave factory...all AMLRV are marked for COG location.

    What he said. Older model Lances were spec'd from the rear of the truck bed, now they are from the front like most if not all others.

  • It's based on the weight of the entire camper - tip to tail. Where that weight is centered (hopefully somewhere forward of the center of tip to tail) is the COG. And because cabover segments are lighter than the full height camper segments, it even gets close to the center of the camper box.

    Same goes for side to side, but less commonly discussed.
