Coleman Cub 9200btu

I plan on replacing my 'dead' Dometic Penguin 13500 with a Coleman Cub 9200 ... does anyone have experience with this unit in a truck camper. Mine is a Lance 1120 (approx 90 sq ft of 'floor' space (if you include bed and counter tops). We only camp in the west, but at sometimes high and hot elevations (106 on Whitefish Mountain in Montana at 5000' this past July, ouch ... that is when the Penguin cracked a compressor pipe of course). Thanks in advance for any help.
  • I have this AC on my Lance 950 and live and camp at 5000 feet. Never had a problem and it will run off of a Honda EU2000i.
  • Am I correct in understanding that the Polar Cub is no longer available, and the replacement is the Coleman Mark 8, 9200 BTU?
  • Have a Polar Cub 9200 and it works great on my 1055 with a honda 2000

    Towpro you are correct

I have the new version, and it starts and runs on my Honda 2000. Even after I installed a relay and remote thermostat that turns on and off the complete unit when AC is called for.
  • Thanks Folks ... I went with a Coleman Mach8 9200 and found a brand new Onan 2500LP on Clist ... the combo works perfect and I can even run the micro along with the A/C (+ no gas cans and generators to lug around)
