OK, for real life experience I've got a newer duo-therm 13.5K that I can run at 90F at sea level using my Honda eu2000i. I installed the SUPCO SPP6 to get it to work though. This draws a lot more power running than the Mach 1, so I don't think it's going to be a problem running the Mach 1 at any temperature.
However, to me it's not worth running the A/C off the generator. It's really noisy because the gen runs at full throttle. Add that to the already loud A/C fan and it's just not worth it. It also sucks gas and the small tank on the generator only lasts a couple of hours. I did it once and never again. If I really needed it, I'd buy an eu2000i companion and do it that way. If I ever get a TC I'll probably just get one without A/C, but I realize my situation is unusual and most people won't agree.
