Coleman Quality

AT one time Coleman was the word for quality. My first pop up was a coleman. I am not sure, but I thought "Fleetwood" bought Coleman. But again, I think I heard that years back. Regardless... I absolutely hate my 2000 Fleetwood Terrie 30 foot TT. Poor quality. Cheap construction. Basically a pile of rot waiting for a tow truck to come and take it to the junk yard. Just my opinion... Just my 2 cents.

I've got it's twin a dutchmen, the same floorplan in the coleman was $3000 more for the same quality, i'd pass.

I'd always heard Coleman was good quality but a buddy and I wen't to look at a Pup for his family and found it had nothing on the underside to protect the bare wafer board from the elements. A rear corner was rotten.
So maybe check out the bottom if you look at Coleman products.

Coleman is now just a name owned by Dutchmen. It is not the Coleman company of years past that made first class PUP's.

They were Very high quality when they were independent. Now they're pretty run of the mill.

For a new unit, they have a 2 year warranty, which is not common at all in the industry. From what I've seen, they're pretty average trailers though. Nothing special, but nice enough.

Yep, just a name kept alive by Dutchmen. I do own a '13 coleman 268rk unit and its quality is average. Minor fit and finish things inside but as for the frame and axles they are stock Lipert thats used by most manufacturers. Theres a few puzzling engineering things that could have been better IMO but it is what it is. Like why make an all season unit with an enclosed underbelly and heated tanks and dump valves and then use single pane windows? or why cant the rear kitchen units have its grey tank plumbed to the main black/grey dump valves? why 2 dump takeoffs? Overall I love the floor plan and the quality is acceptable, its a trailer afterall meant to be used, and used alot. Good luck and happy camping.

We recently sold our 198DB 20' 2012 Coleman no big issues it suited us at the time and was good value for money.

We just took our new Coleman 192rd out for its maiden Voyage. No issues what so ever. While the trailer does not have many upscale features, it seems to be put together and insulated much better then our old Fleetwood Pioneer. I was fixing something on that one every trip. It was getting down in the mid 30's at night and my wife and I both commented how were surprised it was that cold outside and we were so comfortable inside.
