COMMENTS DWINDLING

It seems that less and less comments are showing up on the FOLDING TRAILER POPUP FORUM. This is the lowest I have seen in recent times...

We are still alive and well with our OFF-ROAD POPUP...

  • I've noticed across the internet; forum traffic as a whole is down. Car forums, computer forums, gun forums, other hobby related forums.

People blame it on facebook; but I definitely don't see the board traffic on there.

I don't know where everyone is; or what they are doing now. It is disconcerting though. I've been on some forums for over 10 years and the drop is somewhat recent.

In 2008-2009; I first noticed a dramatic drop in forum traffic on the performance automotive boards.

Ghost towns. Are that many people really watching that much TV these days? What else could they possibly be doing?

The state of the economy reminds me of the 1970's. At some point; people are going to become bored and get tired of doing nothing and start doing something.

I've already seen some signs on other boards of people thinking outside the box and attempting to create new things to do.
  • I've noticed it too. It seems like the general post count is down from what it was in the past. Yes it always slows down around this time of year, and by the time I start my camping this place will be really slow. Maybe it's weather related as this summer seemed hotter than last year where I live.

Or maybe as we are supposedly out of the recession from a few years ago people who picked up camping as an affordable form of entertainment are going back to what they did before the recession hit.

The next big focus on posts will be on winterizing the rigs. I'm not sure why they are specifically down for popups though. I wonder if fewer people are purchasing them for some reason?

When I first started out all I wanted was a pop up to pull around. When I went to look at used ones I was SHOCKED to see the prices these 'used' pop ups were demanding. And the prices of a new one was ridiculous.

Perhaps the prices on a TT having come down over the years is why you don't see so that many PU's running down the road any more like you did years ago.

I know when I saw the prices of the used PU's I went right to an RV dealership and started looking a TT's for the same price. Just saying, it was what I experienced.

Was sure they meant dwindling...could have been Forum Folding? :) :)

Agree with Jim it always runs in cycles.
  • Comments do vary with the season. I have seen a general migration to other social media such as Facebook and the like.

They can be easier to use on mobile devices, thus their appeal. Unfortunately, they are not as searchable for past helpful ideas, etc.

It's way down across the board since I signed up. More so recently around the time when GS took over all the portal companies.

I think many members have deflected to other forums.
