Is the oil milky? If yes then coolant is getting into the oil passages somehow. Likely head gasket.
Is there black residue in the coolant overflow tank? If yes then it's exhaust pressurizing the coolant system. Could be just the egr cooler(s) or still possible small head gasket leak only getting into coolant jackets and not cylinder or oil passages.
I just had the oil changed before I started the trip. It was nice and black. I did notice the overflow tank appears to have a dark residue. The service tech thinks it's most like the egr cooler. Probably won't know until tomorrow. I'll keep everyone informed as soon as I know. Thanks for the reply.
